A Spokane original since 1974.

Skip’s Awnings has been serving the Spokane community since 1974, when the company was founded by Skip Johnston. After working alongside Skip for 30 years, Rick and his wife, Sherry, took ownership and continued the tradition of quality craftsmanship and dependable service for another 15 years.
During Rick and Sherry’s ownership, Dave spent 15 years with Skip’s Awnings, eventually becoming the company manager. When Rick and Sherry were ready to retire, Dave proudly stepped into ownership—continuing a business and reputation he had already been a part of for many years.
Today, Skip’s Awnings remains a locally owned and operated company with more than 50 years of history in the Spokane community. We specialize in custom outdoor living solutions, including retractable awnings, motorized drop shades, aluminum railing, and pergolas, all designed to make your outdoor space more comfortable, functional, and beautiful.
What hasn’t changed since 1974 is our commitment to quality craftsmanship, great customer service, and taking care of our customers. We’re proud of where Skip’s Awnings started, and even more excited about where we’re headed.
Family owned. Locally trusted. Serving the Inland Northwest since 1974
